Communications Committee
The Communications Committee works to publicize Holy Trinity’s programs and ministries.
We continue to update the Photo Wall of Members in the rear of the church.
While notice of special programs and services will continue to be advertized on the church website, church publications and in the local media, we also recognize the importance of personally inviting friends and neighbors to Holy Trinity. We encourage you to share all the good things that are happening here at Holy Trinity.
Fellowship Committee
The Fellowship Committee at Holy Trinity is a group of hard working, hard playing people who are dedicated to reminding the congregation that our social activities are just as important as making it to Sunday service.
Lutherans and food seem to be like peanut butter and jelly, separately they are a good thing, but when you put the two together they are a recipe that can’t be beat. Holy Trinity has several food oriented activities throughout the year—breakfast(s), a chicken pot pie dinner, and the church picnic just to name a few.
Fun times also revolve around horseshoes and golf. The church picnic/horseshoe tournament which is always a big success has led to the addition of another tournament for those who can’t get enough. The yearly golf tournament and dinner is also very popular.
The Fellowship Committee is always looking for new ideas to offer an opportunity for our members to gather outside of worship. If you’d like to offer a suggestion, or join the Fellowship Committee Team please contact the church office at 717-733-4134.
Property Committee
The Property Committee provides for the normal repair and maintenance of the facilities to support the ministry programs of Holy Trinity.
Social Ministry
The Social Ministry Committee is tasked to direct Holy Trinity’s charitable outreach to its members and others throughout the community and world through Ephrata Area Social Services, Lancaster County Council of Churches, ELCA outreach and other social welfare groups.
Members volunteer to be Drivers of the Month, help with the Three Score and Ten Banquet, deliver the Thanksgiving Day Food Baskets, and volunteer for LOVE INC. We would not be able to do these programs without our dedicated volunteers. The Social Ministry Committee is always looking for new members and dedicated to making sure all additional needs or programs become part of our ministry.
Stewardship
The Stewardship Committee works hard to provide the congregation with stewardship education on a quarterly basis. Some of the quarterly campaigns have been Skip-n-Give, Where Have You Worshipped? Buck-a-Chick, and Holy Trinity Green Day.
During the Annual Stewardship Campaign the committee works hard delivering their message through Sunday Temple Talks, showing the congregation where our offerings go and how we give compared to other churches. The campaign is brought to an end with Commitment Sunday where the Fellowship Committee provides a great breakfast for the congregation with over 100 people attending. The Stewardship Committee strives to achieve as high a return of Commitment cards as possible.
The Stewardship Committee also carries out a Special Giving Program. Through this program Holy Trinity continues to support many local, national, and international programs designed to offer care for those in need. Some of these include ELCA World Hunger/World Missions, Habitat for Humanity, ELCA Domestic Disaster Relief, Imagine Campaign, Milagro House, Claire House, Aaron’s Acres, Homes of Hope, Water Street Rescue Mission, Luther Care Caring Fund, The Bridge and Love Inc.
The Stewardship Committee continues to provide education on the needs and the benefits of a strong stewardship program at Holy Trinity. If you are interested in joining this vital ministry or for more information please call 717-733-4134.
Ushers
The ushers are organized teams. A head usher arranges the ushering schedule. Ushering teams are present for all scheduled services to provide assistance to all worshippers.
Evangelical Task Group
The Evangelica Task Group represents a renewal of the congregation to faith outreach in Ephrata. This recently reconstituted committee works to bear witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ in the neighborhoods around us.
The Greeter Program is also part of the Witness Committee and works on a rotation schedule.
Hospital follow-up calls and cards are made and sent. Members also check to see if additional help is needed by the person.
Holy Trinity Lutheran of Ephrata has provided Bingo on the first Monday of each month for many years for the skilled care unit at Luther Care. A dedicated group of volunteers helps wheel the residents into the activity room. Attendance is anywhere between 20 to 28 folks. The residents are very appreciative of activities such as bingo, to brighten their days.
